Hey, I'm Mona - and this is my photography journey!

I was born in 1992 in Skopje, the capital city of Macedonia, a small but beautiful country in the Balkans. Even though I grew up in the city, Macedonia is a land full of mountains, lakes, and nature, and many of my childhood memories are connected to that landscape. I loved spending time in the mountains, visiting the old village of my grandparents, enjoying early evening hangouts in the neighbourhood, breathing in the smell of homemade food made with fresh ingredients, and of course playing lots of football. Those simple moments shaped a big part of who I am today.

My first love for photography started when I was 16 years old. My brother - who is eight years older than me and has always been a guide in my life - bought me my first semi-professional camera. I immediately started taking photos of my family and friends. I remember how exciting it felt to be behind the lens, experimenting with light and texture, studying people's faces, and documenting everyday life as it happened.

Very quickly I realised how powerful photography can be. Every person carries a story, and every face is unique and fascinating in its own way. People change, they grow older, their expressions evolve with time. Being able to capture someone's face and emotions at a specific moment in their life is something truly special. Photographs preserve pieces of our lives for years and years to come, becoming memories not only for us but also for future generations.

Although I deeply love my home country, I always felt a strong desire to explore the world and grow beyond what I knew. I've always been a little wild at heart, and when I was younger it was hard for me to stay in the same place for too long. When I was 20, I moved to the beautiful Balearic island of Ibiza, following my brother who had moved there a year before me.

Ibiza opened a completely new chapter in my life. It was a place where I could grow freely and creatively. I met incredible people and gained valuable experience working alongside talented professionals. During that time, I became the official photographer of the well-known Cotton Beach Club Ibiza. It was an exciting and inspiring period where photography was a big part of my everyday life.

But life sometimes changes direction in unexpected ways. In 2018, due to a very personal and sensitive situation, I stepped away from photography and stopped working with my camera for several years.

Photography, however, never truly left me.

In 2022, I met the love of my life - someone who helped me reconnect with a passion that I had buried deep inside but that had never really disappeared. Slowly, I started picking up my camera again, first just as a hobby, rediscovering the joy of capturing moments.

Soon after, life gifted me something even more transformative. I became pregnant, and in 2024 we welcomed our beautiful daughter into the world.

Becoming a mother changed my perspective on life completely. It made me more present, more grateful, and more aware of how quickly time passes. It reminded me that life is short and unpredictable, and that the moments we live today will one day become the memories we hold closest.

Today, my passion for photography is stronger than ever.

My goal is to help women feel confident and beautiful in their own skin, to give families the opportunity to freeze moments that pass far too quickly, and to document love in all its forms - love that is unique, fragile, and incredibly meaningful.

Through my photography, I hope to capture not just images, but emotions, stories, and memories that will be cherished for many years to come.

Thank you for being here and for taking a moment to read a part of my journey.

- Mona
